The School was established in 1993 to commemorate the Centenary Celebration of the Saint Mary’s Syrian Cathedral .The OSE Society of the cathedral, which manages the school, has pioneered the cause of education in Brahmavar for more than a century. The Society has a string of reputed educational institutions and it includes Cosmopolitan Higher Primary School, S.M.S English Medium School, (State Board), S.M.S PU College, S.M.S First Grade College and PG Centre.

Our School was founded by the then Correspondent of the Society, Late Very Rev.RambanDr. N.J.Thomas who was a visionary and a leading educationist. He was ably assisted by Late UbaldOlivera who was the founder Secretary.

The dream of establishing the school could be realized primarily due to the support extended by the parishioners working abroad. After the retirement of Very Rev.RambanDr.N.J.Thomas, VeryRev.RambanSkaria took over as the correspondent.
